Day 1: Phnom Penh City Tour

Good morning! Starting at Phnom Penh and after a fine nights sleep at our pre-tour accommodation and breakfast, we Jump aboard our Tuk Tuk and ride across the city through the hustle and bustle with a mixture of old and new architecture. Take in the sights and sounds of street markets as we head towards the outer city across to the Killings Fields, one of many sites used by the Khmer Rouge. This mass grave is a reminder of Cambodia's dark past. Afterwards we head across the 21, a former high school use as an integration prison. Thousands went through these corridors, with most never seeing the light of day again... These sights will indeed leave you feeling shocked and reeling at what happened here in Cambodia not-so-long ago. But when we’re out on the trails meeting incredibly friendly and welcoming villagers in the most remote corners of the country, you will no doubt appreciate knowing the context!

The afternoon takes us out to the local Cambodian army base and firing range, where you can try out an M16, AK47 or even an M60! (Bullet cost not included in Tour Package). This will later be followed by a twilight boat ride up the river and onto the Mighty Mekong, where we can enjoy the sunset over a cold beverage. Phnom Penh hosts a huge range of excellent dining and awesome bars, all with its own very unique Cambodian character!

Day 2 Phnom Penh - Kep

Good morning! This is what we have all been waiting for to begin a journey like no other and discover this truly incredible kingdom from the saddle of a dirt-bike. With our luggage packed onboard our trusty support 4x4 we begin our ride through some morning traffic. Within 40min we are well out of the city and begin our journey to the southern most tip of Cambodia towards our destination of Kep, aka 'The City of Ghosts. You'll feel the temperature drop as we head towards the southern coast. The riding will be a mixture of road and dirt roads, passing through lots of rural villages and endless surrounding rice fields that are still often ploughed using water buffalo. Midway break to enjoy the CMT picnic lunch which is always super popular (and tasty) along with our endless supply of chilled bottled water, soft drinks and fruits.

Late afternoon has us arriving at our hotel with ocean views Kep provides, complete with an idyllic coastal town yet to be ravaged by major development. Enjoy peaceful seaside views out to the surrounding tropical islands with a cold beer. Local specialty is Kampot Green Pepper Fried Crab! A must try for dinner, although any one of their menu items are tasty and popular at our preferred seaside restaurant. Prior to that, plenty of time for a walk along the Kep foreshore or a swim in the massive beachside pool on offer at our resort style hotel.

Day 3: Kampot

Enjoy a big breakfast, you’ll need it! We’ve got a full day of outstanding riding ahead of us today! Expect a good mix of road/gravel and single trails as we ride some excellent terrain, sights including many small remote fishing villages and rural farming life (and even some sandy trails!). As we edge closer to the famed coastal town of Sihanoukville. Highlights of the day will includes Kep mountain national park ride, and the red-dirt 'Road of a Thousand Bends', through stunning waterways and rice fields. We'll be greeted with cooler weather and feel the sea breezes as we edge closer to the our next overnighter on the coast. We will arrive at the beach town of Sihanoukville around 4pm and 'did anyone mention cold beer?!'.  Here we can head down the beach and park up at one of the many beach bars! Sihanoukville offers plenty of cheap cold beers, great food and awesome sunset views! So take a dip, then make sure to enjoy the lively nightlife of this awesome party spot! a

Featuring an abundance of lush greenery, varied terrain, rocky sections, rickety wooden bridges, daring river crossings and remote villages with a nice blend of single track thrown into the mix.

Day 5: Sihanoukville - Koh Kong

Full day today, we’ve got mixed terrain with a great range of jungle trails, gravel roads, sandy tracks and winding road sections edging through some outstanding jungle-covered mountains and wild rivers. Watch out for ‘Elephant Crossing’ signs! We will be arriving at our comfortable accommodation late in the afternoon, by which point it will no doubt be time to crack open that ice box filled with the finest cold beers and drinks!

Take a rest and relax… Soothe those muscles with a great local body massage for just $10 whilst the CMT team and crew prepare the bikes for the next day of adventure! Tomorrow takes us even deeper into the outstanding Dirt Biker’s paradise that is the Kingdom of Cambodia!

Day 6: Koh Kong - Pamou

Another awesome full day of riding (one on the best days on the calendar!) heading into the Cardamom Mountains - one of Asia's last vast mountain wilderness areas. This region is home to many endangered wildlife species, many of which are not seen anywhere else in the world, such as the Siamese crocodile, tigers, elephants and bears. This part of the world is also as we like to call it 'MadMax Country' with an array of custom built cars and trucks used as supply vehicles tackling these often very boggy and rutted tracks.

We’re getting very remote through this outstanding part of wild Asia! We tackle the Tiger trail, a challenging mix of rocky single trail and crystal clear mountain creek crossings, before some slightly easier riding on mainly dirt roads with plenty of potholes and soaring views across the mountain ranges. We pass a newly built hydroelectric dam, along with small new frontier villages where life is very basic. You will gain a great insight into village life when we arrive at our remote guesthouse in Pamou. The guesthouse is basic but comfortable, and the family puts on an awesome BBQ dinner for us with plenty of cold drinks to share over some tales of this incredible ride.

Day 7: Pamou - Battambang

Today we’ve got a big ride featuring a mix of river crossings both high and low (depending on decisions from the gods above!). Good bush trails with plenty of muddy sections, we’ll be passing a number of small remote villages and poor families who have scratched out a living in these harsh conditions for centuries. Doing some serious km's today as we tackle some bumpy trails, gravel roads and some bitumen to have us arriving late afternoon into the unique unique and ancient city of Battambong. As the sencond largest city in Cambodia Battambong is a sight to behold, peppered with old buildings and temples in amongst lots of old French Colonial architecture. Tonight we’ve got a very nice hotel with awesome beds, so after a good shower it’ll be time to kickback and enjoy sunset in the rooftop pool!

Day 8: Battambang - Siem Reap

Awoken by the peaceful sounds of traditional music heard from nearby temples, we’ll have to get into gear and get ready for another long day of incredible riding! This full day back in the saddle has us heading towards the mighty home of the Angkor Wat Temples, with some interesting stops along the way,  including traditional stone carvers carefully chipping away at massive blocks, precisely shaping them into incredible statues.

As riders we discover the inner beauty of this Kingdom like no other, experiencing unforgettable epic trails that earn Cambodia it’s position as the must-do motorbiking adventure in Asia! Today is another mix of everything, with some road, some dirt and some awesome single trails close to Angkor. This will then be followed by speedway-style dirt corners around an amazing but secret hand-dug lake as we get closer to our high quality hotel. Tonight we’ll be staying in the heart of Siem Reap, right across from 'Pub Street' (the party headquarters of Siem Reap!). Awesome bars, brilliant food, local craft markets, there’s plenty to see and do here - so go explore!
